It's National School Bus Safety Week Oct. 21-24. Remember to stop for school buses when their lights are flashing, stay alert and avoid distractions while driving, and teach kids to wait for the bus to stop completely before approaching. #Safetyfirst

Loudon County Schools hosted the Tennessee School Boards Association (TSBA) Fall District meeting for the East region Sept. 24 at Greenback School. We were proud to showcase many items made by our CTE students and the food was prepared and served by the Loudon High School Culinary students. Justin Lett, GBS student, opened the meeting with the pledge of allegiance. The meetings focus was on legislative and legal issues and current education “hot” topics. This event also recognized school board members, a local school volunteer award finalist, and a local student who is competing for a college scholarship. During this meeting, LaVonne Barbour and Melissa Browder received their Level II Boardsmanship award. Melissa Browder and Lisa Harvey received their Level II Boardsmanship award. Finally, Zack Cusick, Lisa Harvey, and Kenneth Presley received their Level IV Boardsmanship awards.
