We had the privilege to interview the acclaimed Mrs. Lowery, 7th grade math teacher. Mrs. Lowery started as a nurse at a hospital, stating, “I was working every weekend, so I missed my kids’ sporting events on the weekends.” She decided to go back to school for her master’s degree after falling in love with substitute teaching. Her journey through school while still working was hard, but she is very satisfied with the outcome.
We then asked Mrs. Lowery about her classes. She loves to teach two-step equations and may (or may not) have some favorite students. She explained that it can be frustrating when students don’t put their full effort into their work, but nonetheless, she loves the job. She is thrilled to be able to work as a full-time teacher.
