We got the opportunity to interview 6th grade Social Studies teacher, Ms. Henegar, who gave exceptional answers to each question we were honored to ask. Ms. Henegar was inspired to become a teacher because she homeschooled her kids. She also had teachers throughout generations of her family, such as her aunt and her grandpa. She is motivated to teach to help students become a better version of themselves. She believes kids are our future, and we depend on them for important decision making for the upcoming time. Ms. Henegar feels that some days teaching can be excellent, while some days are rough.

She believes that good qualities in a student are being organized, being kind to others, staying on task, paying attention, preparing for class, being ready to learn, and being able to speak up during class. Ms. Henegar remarks that she was going to be an attorney, but she didn't like that job at all, so she chose to become a teacher at the last second and she loved it. Ms. Henegar wanted to teach middle school kids because while she didn't really enjoy school, she really loved her sixth-grade social studies/English teacher. She said that if she could be the bright spot of someone’s day, then that would be a good thing for her to know that she was able to help someone.
