Loudon County SchoolDistrict is committed to helping all children succeed. We have many ways to help children who are struggling to learn and who need additional supports to be successful. Response to Instruction and Intervention (RTI²) is one form of support.
What is RTI²?
A multi-tiered delivery system that uses a data-driven problem-solving model to identify specific student needs and match appropriate instructional strategies.
In Tennessee, the Response to Instruction and Intervention (RTI²) Framework is a component of a Tennessee State Department initiative. The implementation plan has three legs with student achievement at the center:
2017-2018 – Testing Dates:
Fall: 9/18 – 9/29 Winter: 1/8 – 19 Spring: 4/9 – 4/20
Fall: All Students (K – 8th grade) **
Winter: All students in Tiers II and III. Also students that teachers, parents, and administration have an academic concern.
Spring: All Students (K- 8th grade) **
High School: Fall, Winter, and Spring – Only test students in Tiers II and III. Also students that teachers, parents, and administration have an academic concern.
The Aimsweb Universal Screener for written expression will be administered three times a year: at the beginning, middle, and end of the year in grades K – 12 to students whose teachers/parents have voiced a concern. A teacher will fill out and turn in a Teacher Referral Form for Student Support along with student writing samples to the lead RTI² interventionist before each benchmark window.
