Loudon County's newest School Board members were sworn into office this week along with several returning members. Lavonne Barbour, District 2A and Melissa Browder, District 5A will be new to the Board this year. Returning members re-elected on Aug. 4th are Kim Bridges, District 4, Bobby Johnson, Jr., District 2B, and Zack Cusick, District 6. LHS NJR0TC were the color guard for the event.

It is officially Battle of the Bridge week in Loudon County. All proceeds from the food drive benefit the Good Samaritan Center. LHS and LCHS square off on the football field Friday, August 26 at Lenoir City.

For students in grades 1-12, this is the staggered start schedule:
Aug. 1: Registration Day
Aug. 2: A-K Start
Aug. 3: L-Z Start
Aug: 4: No School (Election Day)
Aug: 5: All 1-12 Students Attend

August 2nd: 1/2 of the class (last names A - K)
August 3rd: 1/2 of the class (last names L - Z)
August 4th: Inservice
August 5th: Repeat with students from August 2nd
August 8th: Repeat with students from August 3rd
August 9th: Entire class

Meal Prices:

Students will be required to pay for school breakfast & lunch this school year.

PK-12 full pay breakfast $1.35

PK-12 reduced price breakfast $0.40

PK-5 full pay lunch $2.25

6-12 full pay lunch $2.50

PK-12 reduced price lunch $0.40

Students have the day off for Election Day; teachers will report for In-Service.

Check with your schools for an exact schedule, but all our students will be completing state achievement tests over the next two weeks.
