Congratulations to the 2018-2019 Bright Spot Awardees! These represent just some of the great work taking place across the state in the world of Primary Prevention. These nominations were reviewed and scored by the Bright Spot Awards Review Committee which is made up of public health staff from every region. Loudon County won the Gold Level Award for its "Juvenile Court Alternative Tobacco Program."
Several members of the Loudon High School FFA competed in agriculture competitions at the 2019 TVA&I Fair in Knoxville, TN. We are pleased to share four students place within their competition areas. You've heard of farm to table - at North Middle it is STEM to farm. The NMS STEM class printed 3D eggs to put in their school chicken coop to teach the hens where to lay. Students saw the first real egg today!
It's Battle of the Bridge time in Loudon County where Loudon and Lenoir City square off on the football field - the 2nd longest rivalry in TN. Students across the county are collecting non-perishable food items for the Good Samaritan Center. The ballgame will be at Loudon High School, THURSDAY, Aug.29 at 7:00 PM. MyWVLT2 will televise the game.
