Today, graduation rates will be published from the Tennessee Department of Education. Education Commissioner, Candice McQueen announced that the 2017-18 high school graduation rate held steady at 89.1 percent, which is the highest graduation rate on record for Tennessee. This is obviously great news for the great state of Tennessee. Additionally, Loudon County Schools has great news to share as well. This year the graduation rate for Loudon County is 94.78%. This is an amazing accomplishment and something to be proud of in our community. This rate is an increase from 92.5% from last year and the highest graduation we have ever experienced. To say I’m proud of our teachers, students, and administrators is an understatement.
We have been able to produce amazing results like being one of eleven districts that were the highest achievement possible, level 5, being one of fourteen districts to be named Exemplary, and being able to produce the highest graduation in history due to hard work from our staff, and by being able to provide programs and interventions that support students on a daily basis. We would love to see our rate eventually climb to 100% in the future. We plan to double down on our efforts to support students, faculty, and staff to make this happen. However, I want to emphasis again, this would not have been possible without the support of our great staff and programs that we have in place to support students on a daily basis.
