Send Someone a Special "KISS" for Valentine's Day

PTO would like to help you send someone special a sweet sentiment and a "KISS" on the Friday before Valentine's Day. For each 25 cent donation you can fill out a message slip and PTO will attach a chocolate KISS to it and deliver it to your special person on Valentine's Day.

Making Education Priority One In Loudon County
The Leadership Alumni Association of Loudon County will host a public forum to
spotlight the importance of excellence in education for our community. The event, Stakeholder’s Forum: Making Education Priority One in Loudon County is scheduled for Thursday, February 11, 2010 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church, Lenoir City. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.

Terrific Kids Honored

Thanks to Tellico Village Kiwanis Club who recognized a group of Eaton first graders for being "Terrific Kids" with terrific behavior. Clowns provided entertainment as the kids enjoyed a pizza party. McDonalds also gave each child a coupon for the restaurant.

Snowy Days

Hope the children enjoyed the weekend of snow. Pre-K class was able to enjoy the remnants on their first day back (Feb. 1). For many, this is the first ever experience with the white stuff! Click to check out our photos - even Mr. Pig enjoyed the snow!

Donation to American Red Cross for Haiti Relief

Eaton students and staff, in a one day donation, raised $1,304.15 to donate to the American Red Cross for Haiti Relief. Thank you to all who participated. When each person gives just a little, we are able to offer our community and world a LOT! A check was presented to Bill Bass, Loudon County Red Cross, on January 28 by fourth grade members of the Eaton Student Advisory Council. .

Eaton is Featured School at Feb. 11 School Board Meeting

Check out the video some of our fourth grade students will present to the School Board on Feb. 11 when Eaton is the featured school. Thanks to Mrs. Ashley Talley and Mrs. Maria Warren for helping with this project.

Eaton Technology Fair

It's the time of year for Technology Fair at Eaton. Categories include book reports, historical biographies, mini-lessons, original stories and poems. Students may use clip art, digital cameras, scanners, paint programs, or Word drawing tools. Each grade level has a different due date: K - Feb. 22, 1st - Feb. 23, 2nd - Feb. 24, 3rd - Feb. 25, and 4th - Feb. 26. Judging will be Wednesday March 3 and awards will be presented at the March 4 PTO Meeting. Click the link for complete details.

Girls on the Run

Registration for a new program, "Girls on the Run," will take place Feb. 1-12th. This is an after school program that uses the power of running to help prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living. The group will meet Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:15-4:15. Only the first 16 to apply will be able to participate. You can contact Raellen Simpson at 712-9979 for more information. February is Dairy Queen Month

Purchase a Dairy Queen cake anytime in the month of February and they will donate $4/per cake back to Eaton PTO. Remember those special occasions that a cake will be needed -- birthday, anniversary, Valentine's Day, or even Super Bowl parties and order your cake today.

25 Years of Loving and Learning

It is hard to believe, but as of Christmas Break 2009, Eaton students will have been learning in our building for 25 years. To commemorate this occasion, our PTO volunteers helped students create a tree with more than 800 leaves to signify the anniversary.
